"Oro" The Pearl of Peace

2012 Double Pearl PRE Stallion (Frozen Semen)

Sadly, we lost this spectacular stallion in 2020. There is limited frozen semen available in the United States. Pearl of Peace was an approved 2012 PRE Andalusian stallion in training in Spain for an upper-level dressage competition. This young stallion is NOT of Paco Marti's breeding... making him the perfect choice for the many PM creams and pearl horses located in the United States. "Oro" as he was known to his friends, demonstrated the potential for high levels of dressage and had exceptional conformation. This stunning horse of pure spun gold currently stood approx. 16.3h tall. He is great-grandsire by the famous Grand Prix Dressage horse, Gaucho III, and out of a Lastur daughter, Vega X.

Oro is a double pearl. This means every offspring will receive a copy of the pearl gene from this site. Pearl is generally considered to be one of the rarest of color traits. The gene is recessive. It is activated to its full expression by cream or a double dose of the pearl. A cream/pearl combination results in a horse that appears much like a Perlino or Cremello. A double dose of pearl results in a fantastic metallic hue (ranging from bronze to platinum or brilliant gold), usually accompanied by an extreme shine. This is truly one of the most unique and sought-after colors in the Iberian breeds. Combining this rare color with his overall quality and potential for dressage is a rare treasure.

Pictured above with Naomie Harris, Ms. Moneypenny, in the new Bond film. Oro was featured in Town & Country magazine...Oro is quickly becoming a worldwide shining star.  Sommer Ranch is also pleased to announce the arrival of the first Pearl of Peace foal in the United States in March of 2018! Followed by another in June of 2020. Both HUGE, beautiful, unusual colored fillies.   Navi de la Paz is a double pearl PRE mare on a black base. See bottom of Foundation Mares page for photos. And Mazikeen de la Paz, our latest arrival, is a cream pearl. Sadly these two fillies will belong to a very small group of Pearl of Peace offspring as he passed in the summer of 2020. It is with a very heavy heart we make that announcement.
